Educational Institutions Closed Till July 31 In J&K.

Due to the pandemic for the past two years the whole country, all the educational institutions were closed. Also the government of Jammu and Kashmir had closed all the educational institutions till 15 July. But in the view of current COVID 19 pandemic the Government of Jammu and Kashmir extended this date to July 31. 

An order to this effect has been issued by the member of Secretary Sate Executive Committee Of Jammu and Kashmir Government Department of Disaster Management Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction while invoking section 24 of the disaster management act 2005. All the schools, colleges, universities and technical education, skill development institutions and private tuition centers shall remain closed for the said period of physical class work.

All Schools Closed Till 31 July 

All the teachers have been asked to continue online classes from their home only. However, higher educational institutions shall be allowed to seek physical presence of minimal staff for research work.

The order also read that all the Deputy Commissioners shall focus on the positivity rates of the Medical Blocks under the jurisdictions. It has been  noticed that 04 blocks in Kashmir and 06 blocks has shown positivity rates higher that 2% in the past week. Strict measures, related to COVID Appropriate Behaviour and opening of activities, will have to be taken by the DC's in these blocks which are as follows:

  • All DC's shall keep active track of the positivity rates in these blocks and consider implementing stricter control measures in closed clustered spaces like public/ private offices, community halls, malls, bazaars etc. in case weekly positivity rate goes beyond 4 to 5 percent in these blocks.
  • The three T protocol of testing tracking and treating needs to strengthened in these blocks.
  • Positive cases so detected as a result of intense testing need to be isolated at the earliest with their contacts.
  • Quick treatment and isolation of COVID-19 patients shall be ensured in medical faculties.
The order further says that there will be no restrictions on the entry of passengers, travelers coming to Jammu and Kashmir whether by road or by air but they must undergo a COVID-19 antigen test through any of the prescribed methods as per the protocol of Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
